Biography: LYNN A. TAYLOR
ONEIDA – Lynn A. Taylor, 87, West Elm Street, died Monday evening, January 26, 2015 in the Oneida Healthcare Center, where he had been a patient for the past two days.
Born in Morrisville on June 23, 1927, he was the son of Lynn H. and Rose Smith Taylor. A resident of Oneida since his early teens, Lynn was educated in the Oneida Schools. He married Catherine Malone in St. Joseph’s Church on June 25, 1946. Mrs. Taylor died February 20, 2014.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Taylor was employed with the New York State Armory in Oneida as the Superintendent and was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army.
Surviving are one daughter, Katherine R. Taylor of Oneida: one son and daughter-in-law, Lynnwood J. and Mary Anne Taylor of Mechanicsville; one sister, Helen Morris of Verona; two brothers, Dwayne Taylor of Herkimer and Bert Taylor of Sherrill; five grandchildren, Marissa and Linnea Taylor, Jamie, Joshua and Jonathan Taylor; and two great grandchildren, Olivia and Alexander Taylor. He was predeceased by a son, Gerard M. Taylor on March 24, 2006 and a sister, Joyce Ward.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Saturday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida and 10 AM from St. Joseph’s Church, where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Reverend Richard Kapral, officiating.
